Mission: M-14 New Beginings
Location: USS Phoenix
Timeline: MD 3 - 1030

--- Battle Stations ----

After leaving the star, they were now enroute to the systems asteroid belt. Should be the perfect place for test of the ships maneuverability and to put the crew to the test. Rico turned and glanced to the XO…it was time.

“Commander, the crew is yours. Helm take us through the belt…just don’t scratch the paint.”

Cevel nodded, pushed the comm button on his chair and in an authoritative and precise voice, “All hands, battle stations. This is a drill. I repeat, all hands to battle stations. This is a drill”

Cevel looked at his console next to his chair and began to punch in scenarios. He would send simulated battle damage to Engineering, damaging the Warp Core, and several console explosions. He also figured he would give the damage control teams work with simulated damage on the conduits along deck 8, near the science labs, which would cause the science labs to have issues with their consoles.

Over at Sci-II Doctor Aldana implemented the EMT drills program. Immediately s/he began receiving calls of injuries. -=/ \=-Partial collapse of deck five section alpha. Internal sensors damaged, several crew and civilians unaccounted for.-=/ \=- the computer reported.

Setting hir station on stand-by Aldana and Sombra were up in a flash and departed via the working turbolift.

[Engineering]

The red Alert klaxons sounded; the Damage control teams were rushing to suit up while the deck personnel moved quickly to their stations. In the middle of this Kent strode around to make sure his people were doing their training before he stopped in front of the Master Control Board.

“Okay people, time to see what the Tactical people and OPS throw at us as simulated damage?” He was adjusting the power controls. “Keep the coolants to the reactors and monitor the Core as the power demand rises.” Kent instructed.

[Bridge]

Ayana pushed a button and all the port turbolifts stopped working. She sent out four teams to see how they worked together and how quickly they got them back online.

As the various scenarios played out the helm took the ship though the asteroid belt ducking here and weaving there.

Cevel turned to the crew and glanced from each of the positions one at a time to make sure everyone else stayed focused on their stations. He pressed the comm button on his console, “Engineering, damage report.”

=^= Engineering, we have taken a hit near the Port upper Pylon...=^= Kent's voice was calm and gave the succinct report in an almost monotone. =^= Beta Section will be unable to achieve warp under her own; thus, the ship is down to only warp capability of factor six maximum and not advised to go above five due to stress upon the pylon structure. =^= The nearly automated voice of Kent continued. =^= Fusion reactor number four is down due to being knocked off mounts as it was nearest the blast area. Warp Core section two has been affected due to overload in the matrix from damage to pylon two and the power surge. Core performance down by 22%, we are combat capable but with internal damage Phaser array down by 25%, no damage to other Major Systems and shields able to remain at 81% currently, no shield generator damage yet.=^=

[Operations]

Heather was monitoring things and as the ship took simulated damage she entered her command and added her little twist to the events. The resulting power surge blew out the console Heather was manning, making her simulated casualty, leaving Ensign Montane the senior officer in Ops while Ayana was on the bridge, and Ops went dark.

Montane had been monitoring the Damage Control through a secondary console on the Bridge; basically backing up the Operations Main Console and routing her Damage Control teams from here. The Damage from various 'simulated hits' and the cascading damage fell to her panel. She began sending the personnel to deal with the damage, the first and foremost damage she had reported was along Deck 8. The science labs, the break up in the Gel packs would cause a domino effect of the consoles.

"Team 8, go to Jeffery Main Junction outside the Science Labs of Metallurgy; simulated fires in area, danger to the Lab as well." Montane said from her monitoring station. "We need to contain the fires...” She was in mid-sentence when the Flash of a damage to the Main OPS Console exploding hit her readings. " She glanced up to see her superior Officer not interacting any longer; 'Simulated Loss of personnel and console. "

From the bridge, Ayana noticed the "damage" to Ops. It would be interesting to see how well the green officer handled the situation. For now, though, she would leave that to Heather. Better to let Montane sink or swim on her own.

"Routing Operations through Console Two." Montane announced as per the simulated protocols. "Ensign Montane taking control. Damage Deck eight, science section point of interest. Deploying teams accordingly" She reported"

Now things were beginning to add up on her 'plate' it was nothing that she had not done in simulation; well not exactly but the routine and protocols would be the same. Her first priority was to allocate the ship's power resources to the required systems; she noted that Life support, lighting, the hull integrity fields were still taping resources with reinforcement of damaged sections.

~The port side Lifts!~ She thought to herself. ~The entire port side... now that is a curve, there had to be some sort of a control problem?~ Her mind began running the possibilities; she had to think faster as this was her chance to show she finished training and not be bumped back down a grade. ~Main Junction near the computer feed, the routing of the commands off the Main Computer that controls and regulates the impulses of the Turbo Lift movements.~

"Cannot have them bumping into one another now can we?" Montane said more to herself as she prepared the orders. "Damage control to Main Junction Computer core, search Turbo Lift relays for damage and route accordingly. "Estimating six minutes to route power back to the Turbo Lift Systems." She estimated the work due to the technical training manuals; subsection three where the standard team should be stationed close to Computer Core as it is a major part of ship operations and personnel should be close at hand.

Montane had that one covered for the moment, now back to the allocation of the power grid, she made a cursory check of the power allocations for the Sick Bay, finding the power flow was not altered to simulate damage. Also as per standard Operating Procedure noted the least filled Cargo Bay that could be prepared for immediate use. "Cargo Bay Three is best suited to convert to Triage when needed Captain."

She had to think one step ahead where she could.

Though he was curious as to the transfer of the operations functions to the bridge he took the “Very good Ensign. Advise Sickbay and direct teams accordingly.”

[Holodeck 1 - Simulated Deck 5 Near Section Alpha]

Once inside the turbolift, Aldana looked down at hir male companion, ~Ready to go to work?~

Sombra gave an excited yip.

Aldana was torn, s/he didn’t want Luuna to be left out, but s/he knew time was of the essence. S/he didn’t know if s/he would have time to stop by her quarters to pick up hir female companion. Then of course it hit hir. Hopefully the internal transporters weren’t off-line. Luuna should be able understand verbal commands over comms.

-=/ \=-Aldana to my quarters. Luuna prepare for transport. ‘Goto work!? Huh! Goto Work?’-=/ \=-

Of course Luuna didn’t have access to a comm system, so Aldana assumed she heard hir, and added, “Computer scan for and lock on to the microchip designated ‘7F03YTY836M.’” Meanwhile the doctor was re-configuring Sombra’s vest for basic search and rescue.

“Locked on.”
