M6: Blood of the Innocent
Location: USS Ballard
Timeline: MD 0200-0400

[USS Ballard Deck 12]
John and his team transported to deck12, his team was immediately greeted by weapons from a couple of the Marines from the Ballard. "Major John Cole, USS Achilles." John greeted them as they lowered their weapons.
"Sargent Jensen, USS Ballard, Team 5, glad you guys are here." Jensen said with a sigh of relief.
"What the hell happened here Sargent?" John asked.
"Well, I remember a massive explosion that rocked the ship, everything went out and then another explosion. Most of the Marines rallied at HQ and we dispersed into teams with our assignments. My was to secure deck 12 and the two Sick Bays.
John and Jensen walked down the corridor to the Sick Bays, the corridor near the Sick Bays was lined with injured. Medical staff were inside frantically helping wounded, but were seriously undermanned. John got the nurses attention, who is in charge here? Where is the Doctor.
"I'm in charge here, the Doctor is missing, she was assigned to the negotiation talks a mediator." The Nurse replied.
John looked around the room, "I'm going to get you some help here. =A=Medic, get your butt to Sick Bay, on the double=A= Corporal Price came running into Sick Bay with her Medical bag slung over her shoulder, "Yes sir?"
"Help them in any way they need." Before she could answer, "John turned away =A=Cole to Achilles, Deck 12 secure send over Medical staff immediately=A= John looked at Jensen who was still standing beside him, "Keep your men here and keep deck 12 secure, I am going to take my team and continue down."
"Yes sir." Jensen replied.
[USS Achilles]
Da`nal sat in his Command chair once again as the ship had been re-integrated into one vessel again, to be honest he was aching to get over their himself. "Acknowledged Major. Medical teams are on there way. Sensors show a high concentration of personnel on Deck 17 at the Engineering hulls auxiliary sickbay. Is there any way to tell if that area is clear?"
John turned back to Jensen, "There are a lot of life signs on deck 17, do you know if that Sick Bay is in use?"
"Yes sir, I heard it pretty busy down there, understaffed as bad as it is here." Jensen replied.
=A= Cole to Achilles, Deck 17 Sick Bay in use. Will secure now. Have additional Medical staff ready to transport there once its secure=A=
"Understood...Da`nal out"
John returned to his team, looking around for an access door the the Jefferies tube, he found one and unlatched it. "Okay, we are going to deck 17 to secure and keep it." John was the first one in, crawling over several meters before finding a panel leading down.
Gunnery Sargent Paul Rosewood and his team materialized on deck 36 just outside of Main Engineering. Using visual commands, he broke his team in two. One half would secure the deck while the other team with him would secure Main Engineering.
Inside engineering the alert went out. "Sir Transporter Activity!"
Sopan looked to the few engineers and the Marines. "Take cover and stand ready..." Pulling a phaser he crouched next to Gunnery Sergeant Harper who had his phaser rifle over the 'pool table' ready to take down however was dumb enough to charge their position.
Gunny eyed the door, "Something isn't right." He looked to Corporal Gains, "Hot wire it, I want manual control."
Gains ran to the control panel and fried the circuitry by shorting a few of the relays together. "Done sir."
"Okay, I want two men on the door to open far enough to get a reading on whats in there. Private Townsend, use your targeting scanner to get a fix on any and all life forms in that room."
Townsend scanned the room, "I'm getting Marine transponders, about a dozen of them scattered through out Engineering and other life signs as well."
"Very well, it seems clear, lets take it slow." Gunny said as he gave the order to move forward slowly.
[Inside Eneineering]
No sooner had they taken their positions than one of Green's team called out. "They're MARINES! Hold your fire."
The doors to Engineering opened, someone on the outside had bypassed the lock, as the rest of them stood slowly to see just who came through the entry.
Once Gunny caught sight of the others, he called out, "Marines, stand down!" He lowered his weapons as the Ballard's Marines stood. =A=Rosewood to Achilles, Engineering secured, you may begin transporting Engineering teams over=A=
[USS Achilles]
=^= Acknowledge. =^= Opening a channel to Engineering. "LT. Cole, Engineering is secure, your and your teams are a go."
Russo and his team split and began to search deck 42. Each team used wrist scanners to detect bio signs and weapon signatures of any know type of explosive device as well as some unknown ones. Once deck 42 was cleared , Russo's team moved to deck 41. Russo began to check the inventory of the anti mater pods and noticed that two full pods were unaccounted for. =A=Russo to Cole, there seem to be some anti matter storage pods missing, 2 of them.
=A=Acknowledge, keep me informed=A=
=A=Achilles to Cole we've picked up life signs in the aft torpedo control, it looks like that area has sustained heavy damage. The life signs are getting weaker by the second. There must be some damaged photon torpedoes, the radiation in that area is keeping us from getting a positive lock. We can transport you to deck 34 and you will have to climb down to deck 35 and get those people out of there.
=A=Understood, Cole out=A= John looked at his team, "Alright people let get a move on." His team bunched up so the transporter could get a good lock, =A=Transporter, deck 34 on the double=A= Shortly John felt the familiar tingle of the transporter. and then they were on deck 34. John looked around for the access panel for the jeffieres tube, "Get that panel off!" John said as he pointed to the one that was about 5 meters away.
[Deck 35 - Aft Torpedoe/Phaser Control]
After the last hit the control room has been critically dammaged. Fires burned from blown panels and Starfleet and Marine alike lay semi-conscious barely aware of the fire slowly choking them to death.
Rachelle felt a body laying over her as the heat neared her. Trying to roll away she had to carry the weight of the Marine with her. As she managed to make it to her knees she turned to she who had been laying over her. She reached down and rolled the body over...it had been one of the Corporal's Marines, but the womans head near fell away from the momentum.
Rachelle covered her mouth as tears poured from her eyes. She had never even known her name but she had shielded her from the blast and debris that would have killed her. She reached out a trembling hand and closed the Marines eyes.
A hand had come down on Rachelle's shoulder. "She did her job. Trust me she wouldn't have wanted to go anyother way."
"...but."
"But nothing." Came Dashar's retort. "We need to get out of here before we suffocate...don't let her death be in vein....now help me with these doors."
John kicked away the panel before crawling out into the corridor, pulling up his rifle to the ready he began to quickly move down the corridor towards Aft Torpedo control, knowing that he was being followed by his team. Coming up on the door, he could see and smell the smoke that must have been filling the room. He grabbed the door and tried to force it open, but it wouldn't budge. "Get this door open!" John ordered. Quickly, a Marine pulled his plasma torch and began cutting the door's control panel. After 20 seconds the door had be bypassed and two Marines began forcing it open. With a loud screeching sound the door reluctantly began to slide giving way to the billowing acrid smoke and gasses that had all but consumed the O2 supply with in the room. John led the Marines in the room....
Dashar and Rachelle had tried in vain to open the doors from inside. Fires and debris had prevented them from using the access tunnels or jefferies tubes, but they still hadn't given up. That is until the smoke and lack of oxygen had robbed them of their consciousness.
John immediately began to cough and began having a hard time breathing. He literately couldn't see one meter in front of him. His eyes began to sting, but he kept moving forward, tripping over a body, he fell face first, he head slamming into a metal beam that had fallen from above. He knelt and grabbed his forehead with one hand where it had hit, he felt a wet warmth on his hand. Half looking and half feeling, he found the body that he had tripped over. He felt for a pulse, realizing that there was one he picked up the unconscious body and hefted it over his shoulder. Several other Marines had entered and found an unconscious female and brought her out. John trying to catch his breath, began to speak between deep gasps. "Get...them...back to...Medical."
