Mission: M2: Aggressive Negotiations
Location: Sickbay
Timeline: After seeing nniol, before arresting 'Nerok"

ON:

T'Pal made her way to sickbay quickly. Her arm was broken, her jaw was defnetely broken too and she had multible other bruises and cuts in her face. She looked a mess. Clearly not thinking what she had to be looking like, she entered Sickbay. The fact that the usually pristine uniform and tied hair was not present, made it look worse. Thought she smelled like alhohol and certain appeared to have crawled from a bar fight, her gait was stady and her eyes clear.

"I need a doctor now," she ordered a nurse, who was taken aback by what he saw. He merely pointed in the direction of the medical staff and literally backed away.

T'Pal crossed the floor to the nearest doctor. "Can you fix me up quickly?" she asked, her tone not giving much room for choice.

Melanie was finishing up the last of her reports before leaving for the day when T'Pal came up to her. She looked at the oher woman and frowned. "Of course T'Pal...what happened?" She ushered her to the nearest biobed and grabbed a tricorder.

"It is not impotant, just fix the damage so I can leave. My arm is also broken," T'Pal answered. "Please," she added as an after thought.

"I can see that." She gave T'Pal a stern look. "What happened?" She asked not taking no for an answer. "I wont put it my report T'Pal...if that is what you are worried about." Melanie sighed.

"Then why do you want to know?' she asked blunty.

"Perhaps I can help you avoid this again...or perhaps you need a stern talking to." Melanie was partially joking about the last part as se set to work repairing T'Pal's arm.

"It is not something thatcould have been avoided, It is work related," she explaned flatly. "It was during an interrogation," she said, decideing to cut the Doctor some slack.

"The *Romulan* did this to you?" She asked, trying to keep her voice neutral but failed.

"I allowed him," she said but noticed the tone. "You seem to have some strong feelings about him...why is that?" she asked casually.

"I have a general dislike to Romulans. I was...never mind T'Pal." She shook her head. Melanie had not allowed herself to relive the memories of the assault for more than 11 years.

"Does your *dislike* have anything to do directly with our prisoner," she asked.

"Yes and no. How does your arm feel?" Melanie was sure that the Da'nal had already spoken to T'Pal about Talar.

"My arm is good, thank you," she said, then she realized what the doctor meant. "You are referring to the man named Talar?" she asked ribbing her arm.

Her breah caught in her throat and she held the bon regenerator near T'Pal's jaw for a moment before continuing with the repairs and answering. "My hatred...strong dislike for our prisoner is because of the man called Talar...my strong dislike for the race in general is for another reason."

"Nniol was the one to murder Talar, according to your information?"

"It was indirect...he was part of the attack on the station...I guess Talar was on the wrong part of the base when they fired on the ship...now no one seems to know where Talar's body is...I couldn't give him a proper funeral."

"Then perhaps he is not dead," she said bluntly.

"Why would he fake his death? I was given a holochip with his final goodbye." She placed the bone regenerator on the table. She couldn't fathom the idea that he would fake his own death, but his final words came to her ~I have finally set you free.~

"Your jaw is healed. I'll just repair the cuts and you can be on your way." ~Perhaps he did fake his own death.~ She thought sadly.

"Thank you, doctor" she said as a nurse came to wipe away blood from her face. When she was finished, T'Pal got down from the biobed, getting realy to leave. There could be any number of reasons she could think of why people could believe a person to be dead when they were not, but none were very pleasant, so she didn't comment any further. With a final nod she walked out of sickbay to her office, to get her men for the arrest.

"You're welcome, and please try and not let the prisoner do this again." Melanie replied and went to her own office to document T'Pal's time in sickbay. The conversation with T'Pal bothered her a great deal but tried to push it out of her mind, she still had work to do.
