Mission:
M2: Aggressive Negotiations
Location: Science Lab 2
Timeline: After leaving DS5
The lights of the lab were bright enough to give the man known as Nerok a headache even without the added strain of hunching over a microscope examining a sample from one of the locations that had been attacked on Deep Space Five and the incessant giggling of a pair of technicians who seemed to have nothing better to do than hang around on the edge of his vision trying very hard to get noticed.
Nerok finally gave in.
He turned and shot a narrow glare across his shoulder at them, “Please explain how your manner improves your concentration,†he said, one of the greatest benefits of being a Vulcan, he reflected was that nobody really expected one to socialise. “If you are quite finished perhaps one of you could provide me with the results of the spectral analysis that should have been completed half an hour ago.â€
It shut them up to his relief.
As disguises went this one was easy. Giellun had an affinity for the sciences and it had been a piece of luck that a Vulcan known as Nerok, of a similar height and build to himself, fresh from the Science Academy and known to no-one either on Deep Space Five or on the USS Freedom had become available.
Within minutes of his arrival Giellun put Nerok in the DS5 morgue, just another unnamed casualty of the Romulan attack, while Giellun reported for duty in his place – a reserved and unassuming analyst with access to the very samples and materials he had come aboard to find – the second part of his orders – well, achieving that would be rather more difficult but there was plenty of time.
Nobody had given him a second glance, he did as he was asked and he did it efficiently, and thoroughly, an approach that he applied to all of his assignments.
OFF:
