Mission:
M-18 The Past is Future
Location: Various
Timeline: Current
With things seemingly settling down, Jason wanted to get back into a routine with both his duties as well as his personal life; the last few days aboard had very hectic right from the get go. Hopefully things would start to level off somewhat.
Waking at about zero four hundred, Jason wanted to try and get back into exercising a few times a week. Going to his closet he dressed in a pair of shorts, a t-shirt, and his sneakers then walked into the living area for a quick water to rehydrate before working out. When finished he ran the empty container through the reclaimer. Grabbing his samurai sword, and his padd so he wouldn’t get lost, Jason secured his quarters and head to the nearest lift “Deck five” he requested.
Exiting the lift Jason found holodeck one fairly quickly; he was starting to become familiar with the Phoenix’s layout. Walking up to the doors “Computer initiate Rhineholt one” came the request. “Rhineholt one initializing, all safety protocols enabled” as this doors slid open.
Walking into this big room, he heard a familiar voice coming from behind him “Good morning Doctor Rhineholt.” Turning Jason smiled “Good morning to you as well Ensign Stone; how are you doing” he replied.
“I’m doing good” Becky answered returning the smile then paused a moment “I was hoping the holodeck wasn’t being used so I could workout on a treadmill before my duties started.”
Thinking for a brief moment “This is a rather large room for one person…..so you’re more than welcome to share my time in the holodeck” Jason commented.
“That’s very kind of you Doctor as long as you don’t mind” Becky stated ready to accept his offer.
“Not at all. Computer a galaxy one thousand treadmill placed on the starboard side of the holodeck ” he instructed as the object appeared as requested “There you go, have a good workout” he stated.
Becky walked in noticing how beautiful this place was with it’s green grass, lush trees, and beautiful flowers in bloom everywhere you looked “What is this place; it’s gorgeous” she inquired noticing something in his hand.
“This is a country on planet earth known as Japan; it has a very calming presence about it” he explained noticing her looking at his sword as he unsheathed it “And this is a samurai sword used by some of the warriors in this country during the nineteenth century; I use this to workout.”
“That is a very elegant looking weapon…..of course no match for a phaser but still very elegant” Becky commented with a grin.
Jason chuckled “I agree it certainly is no match for a phaser ” he replied as he removed his shirt.
“I should let you get to your workout” as Becky stepped onto the treadmill on the opposite side of the holodeck to start her own workout. She started going at a trot on the treadmill when she looked over seeing Jason’s well defined torso “Nice body” she whispered enjoying the view as a smile came across her face.
Jason was on the other side of the room, the last thing he wanted was to explain to Captain Montoya why or how he accidentally sliced up one of his crew. He began with very specific moves walking and turning with his sword cutting through the air, making a ringing sound as it moved, all in a blink of an eye. Each set was different with a starting and ending point in a different position each time.
After a thirty minute nonstop workout Jason stopped figuring that was enough for now. Grabbing a towel he wiped the sweat from his face as his body appeared to sparkle from the perspiration; he wasn’t the only one noticing.
Putting his shirt back on Jason walked over to Becky “My time here is up and I’m not sure if anyone’s coming after me; so I guess your workout is finished as well” he commented.
Stopping the treadmill she dismounted it and smiled “Thank you very much for sharing your time with me here; it was very kind of you to do so” she replied with a smile.
“Your welcome Ensign, it was my pleasure” Jason answered thinking is was definitely time for a nice hot shower “Computer end program” and the room went back to black and white.
The two officers exited the holodeck each going in opposite directions.
