[Yeomen's Office]
After the brief meeting with Captain Montoya, Jason walked to Crewman Sizia's Office. Seeing the door was open he entered and with a smile "Hi, could you help get me squared away with my quarters and such" he inquired setting his heavy duffel on the floor.
"No problem at all sir. Do you have anything on the Granger you need beamed over?"
"Yes, actually I have one medium sized crate with the rest of my uniforms and civilian attire along with the rest of my personal effects" Jason replied feeling the effects of the day catching up to him.
Picking up one of the padds in her To-Do file, and after a few taps she smiled. "Well your quarters are ready, on deck 3 with the rest of the senior officers." Noticing he seemed a little sluggish, "Long day Lieutenant?"
"Very much so, let's just say this wasn't the kind of day I imagined for myself when I woke up this morning" Rhineholt replied with a grin "Thank you for your assistance Crewman and have a pleasant rest of your day."
Sizia shook her head. "Not so fast sir, the Captain wouldn't want me to just send you off with a padd and a smile; especially when you probably haven't eaten all day. What with everything that happened to the Granger and all." She leaned over her desk and activated her main holo-console and after a few taps she shut things down.
"There, things are understandably still a bit hectic over on the Granger, so personal effects aren't high on the priority list but I've had a friend standing by. Was it in your quarters a cargo bay?"
"The crate was in my quarters. My plan was to have it beamed over with me but obviously that never happened. I would like to get my new quarters settled as soon as possible since the next few days will be busy with fulfilling my boarding requirements, meetings, and touring the other two sick bays" he replied grateful for any strings that could be pulled on his behalf.
"Well if it was in your quarters, that makes it easy. What as the room assignment?"
"They were guest quarters" then he paused a moment "Deck six room twenty one" he replied.
"Perfect." She typed out a message to her friend in the Ops section with the information and got a confirmation that the room would be scanned and any case would be beam to the new CMO's quarters. Looking back up to the officer, "All done. Your case should be there by the time you arrive. Though if I might suggest stopping by the lounge to unwind a bit, maybe a bit to eat. You've probably been running on adrenaline most of the day."
"Excellent....and you're probably correct in your assumption. As far as the lounge goes I'll wait until another time. Right now all I want is a hot shower, some clean clothes, and a light meal" he replied with a smile.
Grabbing his heavy duffel and hoisting it on his shoulder one last time, Jason headed out of the office. Once outside he paused bringing up the ship’s map on his device. Looking at it for a moment he proceeded across the bridge to the nearby lift “Computer deck three” he requested still studying the map. Exiting the lift Jason was so focused on finding his new home he didn’t see the young Ensign walking up behind him.
[Corridor]
Noticing an officer exiting the lift, with a duffel on his shoulder, the Ensign figured he was new by the way he was looking at his device then looking around. Catching up to him “Hi there, need some help?”
Jason stopped, looking to his left seeing a rather attractive young Ensign “Actually yes, I’m looking for quarters number three twenty five” he replied with a smile.
“Well at least your on the right deck” she commented jokingly with a grin “You’re close, it’s a little ways ahead on your right.” As she paused “Here I’m going that way, I’ll show you where your quarters are; by the way I’m Ensign Becky Stone.”
“It’s nice to meet you Ensign Stone, I’m Lieutenant Jason Rhineholt the new CMO here” he replied as they continued on.
“Nice to meet you as well. So I guess we’ll be seeing each other from time to time” Becky stated while thinking that wouldn’t be such a bad thing.
“How’s that Ensign” Jason inquired wondering what was going on with this young women.
“Since I seem to allergic to almost everything in the universe, I stop by every three months for an injection just so I can function somewhat normally” Becky explained.
He changed screens on his device and keyed in some information; then looking at Becky “I made a notation so when I actually start my shifts I’ll go over your medical files and maybe I can come up with a better option or at the very least a medicine that can stretch your time out to four or five months between treatments. When you come to the primary sick bay ask for Doctor Rhineholt and we’ll sit down and discuss your options” Jason explained.
A big smile came across Becky’s face “That would be fantastic! Maybe I can cut down the amount of medicine I have to take” she replied then paused “Ok here we are, quarters number twenty five” she commented still smiling.
“Anytime I can get a patient to cut down on the amount of medications they’re taking is a good thing” Jason answered realizing he was at his destination “Thank you so much for your help; it’s been a long day.”
“You’re welcome Lieutenant….or should I say Doctor. I’m sure it’s been a very long day for you; get some rest and I’ll see you around” Becky commented with a smile then walked away.
Jason grinned to himself while keying in his access code. The door swooshed open and he entered finally being home. Dropping his duffel on the floor Jason went straight to the replicator for a water then sat on the couch, stepping out of his boots at the same time, it felt good to sit.
As Jason was sitting, and rehydrating himself, he ran through the events of the day in his mind; as was his usual process. This was something he learned to do as a ACMO; it served two purposes. Firstly it gave him an opportunity to make sure he didn’t overlook anything and secondly it help to settle and clear his mind from the rigors of the day; especially today.
Meanwhile the Ensign walked around the bend in the corridor to the next lift to proceed to her original destination “Deck 5” she requested.
