Mission:
M8: The Kzinti War!!!!
Location: Kziniti Armada, SB 517, Qualor II
Beginning of the end…
The Kzinti Armada sped toward its first target, Star Base 517, but unknown to the Kzinti fleet Admiral their Caitian collaborators had been rounded up to be questioned based on Hezrk-Jal’s warning, and would be unable to trigger their devises when the signal was given.
[Kzinti Fleet]
High Admiral Grinath-Khen had already made his way to the command central and once again the fleet was displayed on the central holo-table. At the far end to the table was the Federation station with it layered defense perimeter of starships and defense platforms.
Looking over the defenses he reviewed and finalized the battle plan. The starships on the outer perimeter would be dispatched first and easy enough. If their Caitian brethren had done their job the rest of the stations defenses would fall moments after they arrived. His fleets task was simple enough…eliminate the few starships, shuttles or escape pods that were launched from the station while the Talon weapon ships sliced up the station into pieces. He intended to make this battle as brief as possible so they could continue on to their primary target…the Yadalla and Barradas systems and the resources they had to offer.
As such everything was being committed to battle. There would be no boarding actions to allow the younger, as yet unnamed, warriors to earn their names. This battle would be decisive and final, the eradication of all life on and around the station. The young would have to wait until they reached their final destinations.
Calling out as he continued to review the Yadalla battle plan, “Time to our first target?â€
“Estimated time to arrival; seven hours.â€
[SB 517]
Admiral L’Berr looked at another report. Events were sporadic. In one location the Kzinti where holding their lines while in others they were pushing forward. It just didn’t make sense. There didn’t seem to be any logic to the current lack of activity.
With the main fleets still tied up with the Romulan relief efforts…and assisting secure the Romulan borders from the Klingons, the only help they could look forward to was a mothball fleet being assembled at Qualor II.
Her old ship, the USS Tempest had arrived and instead of having the Cochrane and it untried captain take the Heir to the Kzinti Patriarchy to Earth she transferred that duty to an more experienced crew. From her office she longingly watched as the Tempest slipped out through the Spacedock’s massive doors and jump to warp, wishing there had been time to go aboard once again.
Her ever present yeoman MCPO Marks was right there with her. “Ya miss the ‘ol girl to huh?â€
“Yea…seems like only yesterday.†Pulling herself from the portal. “Is there anything new from Qualor?â€
“The numbers of ships either arriving or being brought online continues to grow.
[Qualor II]
The supply depot turned repair yard and rally point looked like a starship’s class reunion. Aside from the sprinkling of current vessels; the vast majority of the vessels in the system were from the Federation’s mothball fleets and barely had skeleton crews, many lacking proper commanding officers.
[USS Edison]
Commander Lunir sat on his bridge as the shipped slowed to one-quarter impulse. The days of no sleep hadn't worn on him much, but the reading and light of engines and senor readings tested his eyes like nothing before. He rose as the yards came into view. "Nothing like a makeshift base, huh. Helm, bring us to Dock 18 and hail Qualor Command." Lunir returned to his seat, leaning over to his XO. "Commander, ensure that all preparations have been made. Finish docking protocols." Lunir had a look of determination upon his face when he rose again. "Lt. Commander Lemeiux, you have the bridge." Lunir tapped his comm badge. "All senior staff members report to my ready room in one hour. Lunir nodded to Lemieux as he entered his ready room.
"Aye sir, Mr Ericson and Ms Wilks to the transporter room, your commanding officer would like to have back." Richard said as he assumed his position.
"These places are always fun," Jensen said looking at the view screen. "And pretty easy to get lost or killed in. I suggest we cancel shore leave Sir." There was a smile on his face as he walked around the bridge.
"Aye commander, thanks for the ride." Silonez said as he exited his quarters still limping from the accident.
Taev walks onto the bridge calmly surveying his surroundings, "Reporting Captain."
[USS Imperator - Commanding the Qualor Fleet]
The Imperator came out of warp to the gathering point at Qualor. Being one of the newer ships the sight was majestic. Having just finished up repairs there wasn't a hint of damage left from her earlier run in with some Klingon's. Dirk stood tired from siting for close to five hours straight. He looked over at his XO, "Well here is where the fun begins." Dirk motioned for her to follow him to the Holodeck.
Lara yawned as she stood, "Oh.....fun at last? Will there be guns?" she joked, "Either way, I'm right behind you, Sir." she said as she followed close behind him. As they left, she gestured to a nearby officer to take control of the bridge, "Let us know if anything out of the ordinary happens...." she said as the turbolift doors hissed closed.
"Computer initiate Command Meeting Alphonse One." He ordered as they reached the Holodeck. He was leery about doing this over subspace in a Holodeck but this had turned out to be the easiest way to take care of it. They entered the Holodeck and was greeted with a large rectangular table with chairs lining it. Dirk walked to the top of the table and looked down it. There were places for everyone commanding a vessel. Dirk tapped his Comm. Badge "Admiral Alphonse to Commanding Officers, and Executive Officers of the Qualor Fleet. Make your way to your Holodeck, receive the transmitted program, and bring a drink." He motioned for Stone to sit and remained standing as the Command Staff's started to appear.
Stone nodded and took her seat to the right of Dirk and asked, "Want me to take notes?"
Rose stood to one side, leaning against one of the holodeck walls. She wasn't really supposed to be there but she figured it wouldn't hurt to get a leg up on the situation.
[Qualor II yard Command Station]
Klem had been running the yard for over a decade know and he never thought he would have seen what he and his staff were managing. His staff had more than tripled and there support personnel had risen in number even more. His aid handed him the lasted communiqué and he nodded relay the information to Admiral Alphonse.
The communiqué was handed to the yards communication team who immediately set to work passing the information. =^= Yard Command to USS Imperator. USS Ulysses is en route and has been instructed to report to Admiral Alphonse upon arrival. =^=
[USS Imperator]
=^="Thank you."=^= Dirk responded to the yard crew. He turned to the CO's and XO's that had joined holographically. "As there are faces here I don't recognize I want the CO's to state name, ship, and your operational status starting with you Commander." Dirk instructed to the CO's and listened and tried to remember who he could. He noted those that were not fully operational on his padd as they sounded off. He then came to the right side of the table and continued to listen.
