Mission:
M-18 The Past is Future
Location: Counselor's Office
It wasn't that she objected, but just didn't see the need for her to see the counselor, Tora, yes, but she she had her new badass rep to boost her feelings. "Oh well, let's get this over with." Sizia pressed the chime to let her know she was here.
A yeoman at the desk to the counselling suite took a drinks order, and pointed her at the rightmost of three doors off the far wall on the waiting area. The door was open, and coming through it was the chief counsellor, hair swept up into a crisp french pleat and managing to give an impression of lush curves and high heels despite wearing nothing more remarkable than her uniform.
"Do come in, crewman." She indicated two comfortable and well padded chairs. "Please, sit."
Sizia nodded. She hadn't actually met the counselor since she joined the crew buy what she had heard was true. She was very attractive, a fact that deflated her 'badass' ego trip a peg or two. She only hope she could keep yourself in that kinda shape and she aged. "Thank you ma'am".
The yeoman set down Sizia's beverage, and what looked like a cappuccino next to McCaine before closing the door behind herself, and the windows to the therapy room turned frosted, closing off the outside world.
"So," Cleo began, crossing one leg over the other. "We both know why you're here. But I'd like to here from you what happened."
"Yes, ma'am. Ensign Zalos and I we relaxing, enjoying ourselves after shift. Well as time went on we both noticed a couple of Marines looking our way. I didn't think anything of it at first. I know several of them. Any way as time passed their looks tuned into scowls and comments until they finally came over and started harassing us...well Tora actually. Well I stood and said we should leave but the Marines were having it. I took a step towards Tora and one of the Marines put an arm up to block me.
"Well from there everything went into warp. I arm barred the Marine blocking me an slammed him into the table." She played with her hair bit as she darkened in embarrassment. "Guess that wasn't to smart because I got a back hand to the eyer and a kick to my ribs for my trouble. After that all I heard was the table breaking...must have been Tora got herself slammed into it.
"Next thing I know its all over, Marines are yelling at security and I'm getting helped up by a medic and taken to sickbay."
Cleo nodded. Sizia's description was factual, and matched the report she had from security. Tone and response were with normal for sentiment and affect for the circumstance, all good indicators. "That's quite a evening. As for smart, its always smart to stand up against bullies. And since then? How have you been feeling?"
She shrugged. "Great actually. I've been asked out three time since the incident. I mean I know I could be facing disciplinary action" Brushing a few hairs back, "I mean I did sorta swing first," he voice raising a bit defensively, "but he was trying to keep me from getting to Tora so we could try and leave."
She paused slightly after her outburst, "Apologies ma'am."
"I don't see anything to apologize for. And under the circumstances I think your actions were considered, and proportional. I hesitate to recommend de-escalation training in these situations, as I feel that smacks of victim blaming. But there is a training session in the holodeck library if you would like to know more. Its not compulsory."
Sizia was a little surprised. "Thank you. So that's it? I was kinda expecting...well to honest I wasn't sure what to expect."
"My job is to ensure the safety and effectiveness of this crew. I see no immediate cause for concern. As for trauma from experiencing violence? Trauma isn't always immediate, and more harm can be done by rushing into treatments than if a client is given time to process on their own." Cleo explained. "So right now, I see no immediate concerns. We'll reconvene in two weeks for a review. If you feel anything has changed between now and then, you know where to find us."
Nodding as she explained things, Sizia smiled. "That sound good to me. I don't think there will be anything down the road, those two idiots will get what they deserve, but if anything does happen I promise to let you know."
Cleo stood. "I'll update your record, and let your department head know you're fit for duty. See you in two weeks."
Sizia stood as well, happy that her session had got so smoothly. "Sounds great. I know the Captain will be thrilled that I would be having any issues." Stepping through the door she turned and waived a farewell. "Bye Ma'am."
