| General Overview | Samantha, who prefers to go by Sam, has been intrigued with medicine from a young age. Gets along well with others and when she sees something she wants she’s not afraid to go after it. Sam can be very witty when the occasion calls for it. |

| Personal History | Samantha Emerson was born in 2365 to Hank and Rebecca Emerson outside a small town in Tesnia in the Delta Sector. Hank owned his own medical clinic while helping those who couldn’t otherwise afford medical care. Rebecca taught Tesnian history at a nearby school. Two years later the couple had a second child, a boy, who they named Elias after Hank’s Grandfather. At the ripe old age of ten Samantha was becoming increasingly more and more interested in her father’s business. Hank could see her interest and enthusiasm deciding she should learn as much about medicine as possible as he began to teach her in earnest. By the time Sam was in her teens she was able to diagnose a patient then come up with an effective treatment plan. Her obsession with medicine prompted her to read anything she could get her hands on as she started teaching herself all the technical in and outs of modern day patient care; this pleased Hank greatly. When Sam was seventeen a Star Fleet shuttle had to make a rough emergency landing. Most of the crew were injured and were taken to her father’s clinic. While Hank was tending to some of the injured, Sam went on board and spoke with the pilot only to find out there was one more injured person that was unable to be moved. Sam set to work stabilizing the person for transport to her father’s clinic. At eighteen years of age Sam knew exactly what she wanted to do; join Star Fleet and get properly trained in medicine for a life long career. After talking it over with her parents Sam received their blessing to request admission to the Academy. |
