Physical Description		Appearance and Mannerisms At all times, Silak wears a martial arts Gi only wears a Star Fleet uniform when he is required. He is completely uninterested in the indulgences of his acquaintances as Silak believes that giving in to such emotions is a very private and embarrassing affair. The mild expressions he has shown, have sometimes gotten him mistaken for a Romulan.

Personality & Traits

General Overview		Silak was born and raised at ShirHahr, the capital city of Vulcan. His father, Stonn, is a merchant of tourist trinkets and an information broker. His mother, Kaylon, is the liaison between the V'Shar (Vulcan Intelligence) and Starfleet Intelligence. At the age of seven, Silak participated in the koon-ut-la to become betrothed to T'rel who later became a well known watercolor artist. After an ordinary childhood education provided by the Kolinahru monastery, Silak entered the V'Shar, where he served for a decade under the direct command of Security Minister Sutok. His last mission with the V'Shar had him posing as a monk of a remote sanctuary, which was in actuality an observation post next to the Romulan neutral zone.
Strengths & Weaknesses		Silak has strong psionic abilities and has frequently had great problems keeping his emotions under control. He enjoyed the contemplative life of a monk so he stayed for a couple of years, after the completion of the assignment, studying to become a monk in actuality. However, he quickly came to miss the intellectual stimulation of life in the Intelligence service. When he returned, his mother arranged for Silak to join Starfleet Intelligence as a psionics specialist in the sciences division. His exposure to other cultures has made his emotional control even more difficult and he sometimes asks his Orion friend, Donat, to watch over him when he goes on private emotional binges, after all, who knows more about emotional binges than an Orion. He always feels very guilty about these episodes but finds he can't help himself.
Ambitions		In philosophy, Silak follows the school of Nirak. This offshoot of the school of Surak follows the six virtues: courage (protect others), temperance (exercise the will), charity (give when you have too much), truthfulness (logical observation of what is and what is not what we wish), justice (fair treatment of others), and shame. However, with the last virtue, the school of Nirak feel Surak went too far. They don’t believe in suppressing all emotions, just the stronger and the negative emotions. Surak said, “Logic is a lens. Emotion fogs that lens as surely as breath fogs a glass.” Nirak answered, “Surely emotion is as necessary to life as that fogging breath.” Values
Hobbies & Interests		The person Silak values most is his pyllora (mentor) and superior when he was in the V’Shar, Securty Minister Satok. The thing he values most is his Shalis, a bone disk which looks like a large sand dollar and enhances his Lis abilities (see above). The abstraction he values most is loyalty to friends. He believes aggression is the choice of the simple minded and rationalization of deviations of one’s oaths, such as the Prime Directive, are the tools of the foolish or evil minded.
