| General Overview | Likes: Almost never passes up a card game. He's especially fond of poker and spades. If he's not playing cards, You can usually find him in one of four places: in his quarters listening to jazz, the ship’s lounge, the gym, or in his office preparing for some drill he concocted in a dream. He loves to cook, especially Italian. Even though he's married, he has a perchance to flirt with women without knowing he's doing so. Bourbon is his drink of choice. Dislikes: He can't stand cheaters, cowards and those that buckle under pressure. He does not like disorder, people with no sense of humor (like Vulcans), quiet parties. Quirks: He is very particular about his hair and appearance. He can be a compulsive neat freak. He carries weapons on his person at all times. He prefers to carry the Type IIB Compression Phaser in a shoulder rig. He also carries a Type I phaser, a K-Bar knife in his boot, and a collapsible baton. |

| Personal History | He was the only child of the union of Taye and Heaven Chance. His father died in a vehicular accident when he was 11 months old. All he knows about his is what his mother, older half-brother and relatives have told him. His mother remarried when he was two years old. Now he had three older stepbrothers. They were adults so they never lived in the household with him. His older half-brother, by sixteen years, left home to join the Merchant Fleet soon after that due to a rift between him and his stepfather. He was left as the only child in the house until his younger brothers were born. He maintains a close relationship with family. While in high school, he was a member of Starfleet Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps. He participated in the Drill Team, Honor Guard, and Marksmanship Team. He graduated from high school at seventeen and took some college courses. The academic life just wasn’t for him though. Against his parents' wishes, he enlisted in Starfleet. From the time he entered bootcamp, it was apparent which career path Reese wanted to take. He was always a physical person and relished the chance to display his fighting prowess. This was recognized and after boot camp, Reese attended Security Corpsman Training. While Reese excelled in the physical aspect of his training, he struggled with a few of his academic courses. Early in his training, he met Neferteri Shepherd. She got the highest grades but had problems with the rigorous physical training. Theirs became a symbiotic relationship. She tutored him in mathematics and science while he became her personal trainer. Soon after that, the relationship escalated on a more intimate level. Reese and Neferteri became lovers. Theirs was a whirlwind romance and soon they were engaged to be married. Unfortunately, their relationship ended shortly after graduation as they received orders to their first assignments. Neferteri was stationed on the USS Veracruz and Reese on the USS Valley Forge. Little did they know their fates were tied to these two ships crossing paths at the First Battle of Chin’toka. Tension had been rising between the Federation and the Dominion and soon escalated to all out war. The call to duty placed the Valley Forge on the front lines of the conflict. The Valley Forge saw a lot of action against the Dominion. During the First Battle of Chin’toka, the Valley Forge took grave damage and was destroyed. Reese was severely injured but was evacuated to an escape pod that was later picked up by the USS Veracruz. The doctors were able to save Reese’s life after hours of invasive surgery. The first person he saw when he woke was Neferteri, who’d been by his side as much as duty would allow her. They decided to rekindle their relationship. He would require a few months of convalescent leave but not one to sit idle for too long, he returned to active duty as soon as he could. He made it back to the front line to see the end of the war at the Battle of Cardassia on the USS Farragut. After the Treaty of Bajor was signed, Reese transferred to Starfleet Academy for instructor duty. Neferteri took leave to visit Reese. During that visit, they were married. Nine months later, his son, Reese Jr. was born. A few years later, just when Reese was thinking of transferring, his daughter, Isis was born. After several years training officers, Reese decided it was time to return to the fleet. His chain of command recommended him for commissioning and Reese became a Mustang. After a tour of duty on the USS Red Cloud, Reese distinguished himself as the Deputy Chief of Security. He transferred to the USS Achilles as the Chief of Security. |
